What we've been up to lately part 2

Hello everyone!
Just wanted to fill you in on how the little guy is doing. He is 10 1/2 months now and has taken to his nickname "The little stinker" quite well. He is crawling like a madman and "cruising" as well. Now that he is on the move, he can't stand being restrained in any way- so getting things done around the house have become very difficult. He doesn't like anything that straps him in or keeps him from going where he desires (rules out the playpen, exersaucer, chair). Kenny asked the other day why I don't cook as often. I'll let him read this to find out why. That, and our dishwasher is broken!!
Raymond's stomach problems have greatly improved, even at night, to where he is only spitting up on the rare occasion. Thanks to this, he sleeps so much better now. The only problem is convincing him that he is tired so that he'll go to sleep! We could use your prayers on this one!
Some of his favorite activities include pulling tissues/wet wipes out of the box, shaking or banging things to make noise, hitting the keys on the keyboard, clapping his hands, flipping light switches and opening/closing doors, playing the "where's ______" game such as "Where's Bennett?" and he'll look at his picture on the refrigerator. He can say dada, duck, and Jesus. (Which is quite the accomplishment I might add since J and S are not typical baby sounds". This has led to problems, however. Since he constantly uses these sounds, it sounds like he is using the Lord's name in vain when he is upset. We're working on this one. Haha. He loves to sing along to the music at church, especially when it is not encouraged to do so, such as during a prayer or homily. Kenny has taught him to roar like a lion, which we both prefer to the high pitched scream. He also loves to get into anything we don't want him to get! Typical baby.
As for the rest of us, Kenny & I are starting to plant a garden to grow some of our own veggies. I am super excited. We've started the saplings and Kenny has dug out the garden and made raised beds. Our friends Joe and Kevin are filling us in on all the details since we are newbies at this. Some of the things we hope to grow are lettuce, tomatoes, asparagus, broccoli, cauliflower, squash, peppers &peas. Hoping for more but we'll see what we can fit in our tiny backyard.
We also enjoyed a recent short visit from Grandma Rose. We went to the rummage sale at our church while she was here. Got lots of stuff we didn't need for dirt cheap! I was excited that we got a small computer desk so we could move the big one out of Raymond's room! It is super ugly but will have to do until something better comes along (it was only a dollar!) As usual, we started lots of projects while Gma Rose was here but nothing too major this time.
Kenny & I also painted our bedroom recently with texture paint. The color is called "coffee & cream" but it has a lot of green undertones. It was a lot of work but we are so thrilled with the results! We are also excited to attend our good friend's ordination this weekend. There will be a great party to follow I'm sure! We've also been enjoying the outdoors and have been taking lots of walks as it starts to turn into spring. As usual, Kenny has spent his days at work frustrated because the laser keeps breaking but you'd have to ask him more about that.
