Birthday Boys

May is birthday month in the Buyle house.  First, we celebrated Kenny's birthday on the 9th with friends and cheesecake.  Next time I plan a surprise party, I will make sure Kenny will actually be home, though.  Oops.  I had to spoil the surprise so he would come home.

And then, Raymond's birthday is the very next day.  Unfortunately, both birthday boys came down with the sickies on this day.  Luckily, I had purchased Raymond two Thomas videos for a gift.  I have been "trying" to put off video watching until he was three, so he has been saying for months that he could watch Thomas videos for his third birthday.  :P  Perfect gift for a feverish, vomiting birthday boy.  Poor guy.
And then, two days later, as my family was here to celebrate his birthday at the City Museum, he came down with this rash... Hand, foot and mouth.  We didn't realize it until after we exposed the entire crowd.  Oops!  Sorry!  But it wasn't too bad.  In fact, he seemed less whiny than when he has a cold.

Hanging out in our pjs as we tried to stay quarantined...  I guess of all times to get sick, it was nice that it was during Kenny's time off!  I don't think I could have handled pukey boy and Lucia at the same time.  Although, Daddy being pukey was hard work, too.
Here is a shot of Raymond's breakfast train cake.  Good thing I thought of that, since he was too sick for a real cake later.  He loved it, as you can see....

And that's all.  A wave from the City Museum.  We had a great time there.  I even think my picky brother had fun!

Swinging

Just a cute picture of my happy girl in her swing.  She loves swings.  And just life in general.  She is such a fun baby.  I love her.

Summer is coming!

One of my favorite summer foods is strawberry salad.  The market where I get most of our produce is getting lettuce in now and they've been HUGE heads of lettuce.  So we've been having lots of salads!  It looked so tasty that I had to take a picture.  Unfortunately my husband would disagree that it is the best meal.  He likes it, just not as a main dish.  Salads just aren't filling enough for the big guy!

What's up, Doc?

Lucia loves to chow down on carrots and I'm pretty excited by how content it keeps her while I'm cooking! But now that she is popping teeth, I guess I better be careful and put them in those little safe-feeder bags.

I am so excited about my new kitchen gadget!  I know, who needs another gadget to fill up their valuable storage space?  But I LOVE IT!  I can make noodles out of zucchini and cabbage and so much else!  It rocks!
