You'll Never Be One Again!

Happy birthday, Lucia!  Although she tells us she is three or four or even one.  But I'm pretty sure she is two!

First Day of School

Some were happy to be there, some were not.

Started school with a decade of the rosary.

They were supposed to find their name on the clothes pin and move it when they got to school.

That's What I Love About Sunday

We had beautiful weather here in St. Louis today.  After mass, we spent most the day outside!  We brought the baby chicks outside for the first time and enjoyed watching them discover the outdoors.  Kenny worked a bit more on their coop as well.  We picked some goodies from the garden for lunch and dinner.

We took the chickens outside for the first time today.  They had a grand time!

What we picked from the garden today.

The first part of the chicken coop that Kenny is building.

Being Silly

Sometimes, the only way to get Raymond out of his grumpy moods, is a little silliness:

Of course, sleeping might also help, but this is a rare occasion at our house.

Lucia seems to think cheese will help take away the grumpies, too.  She helped herself to the whole block of it!

Or we could just ship him to the Grandparents... :P

No, looks like that won't be necessary.  I think he finally cheered up!

Family Cardinals Game

Thanks to the summer reading program at the library and Raymond's new found LOVE of reading, we were given vouchers for free Cardinals tickets.  So we brought the whole family! Unfortunately, Raymond wore out way too soon, so we jetted out early (I won't admit HOW EARLY).  But we snatched a few cute pictures before that happened!
We parked down by the arch and walked.  Saved us $14 in parking!
Pretending to be tourists...

Gardening

We have really enjoyed our garden this summer.  We've been more successful with our tomatoes and peppers.  We've also added cucumbers which have been steadily producing and thus gracing our table with almost every meal.  Our beans did pretty well, though they are dwindling now.  We are just starting to get spaghetti squash, which we just LOVE around here.  For fun, this year we tried planting one watermelon vine and two cantaloupes.  We had one watermelon growing, but it was knocked off (probably by a squirrell or rabbit!)  We cut into it anyway to see if it was edible and it was still green inside.  But did that stop the kids? NO!

Summertime

I know, I know, it is August!  But the weather has been so mild for most of the summer.  It almost feels like summer just arrived.  Daddy is cleaning out the car to prepare to sell while we tested out our new Popsicle maker from Grandma Rose.  The kids are thrilled, of course!

New Kitchen!

The latest in the Buyle household is a kitchen remodel!  We are so very grateful to my mom and my Aunt Ann for their awesome hard work and skills in replacing our counter tops and floor.  We also have a new sink and faucet to top it off!  How exciting!!
I wish I was a better photographer because pictures don't do this part justice.  It is so nice in better lighting.

I Love the sink!  It is so deep!

I love the new rugs we got, too.  It really helps to break up the two areas.

And notice the sweet homecoming flowers from my husband!

Helping Daddy Work on the Car

On the agenda tonight, Daddy is replacing the brakes on the car, with lots of "help."
Here he was replacing the pieces of the "puzzle" that the kids kept removing.

 Check out that concentration...

Happy Fourth Birthday, Raymond!

Raymond turned four a few weeks ago.  We didn't do anything too grand to celebrate, but he still seemed to light up with excitement!  Aunt Annie, Ben, and Izzy came through St Louis for the night and were able to have cake and ice cream with us, so that was a fun time for all!  Raymond got to eat with his new spork that was his birthday wish! haha.  What a goofball!  Also, Grandma Rose came to visit and surprised him with a bicycle, helmet, bell, and knee/elbow pads.  He was so thrilled!
