Raymond's first haircut

Lo and behold, Raymond's first haircut. It breaks my heart to see how he looks less like a baby and more like a big boy. But it was starting to look pretty shaggy, and he hates when I comb or wash it! He was a little afraid of the clippers at first, but the bribery with banana chips seemed to fix that.
The last two pictures are the finished product.

Happy birthday, Mary

Today, we celebrated the feast of the Nativity of Mary by making cupcakes and birthday cards for Mary. When daddy got home from work, we had a little party with the birthday song, candles, and cupcakes. And we read our cards to Mary of course! We only wish our new little one could have shared such a cool birthday, but it looks like that isn't going to happen! Oh, and you've got to check out the recipe for the cake- I'm sure it will sound unappetizing to you, but let me tell you, these were amazing!!
