Happy Halloween!!

For Halloween, The Buyles stayed home to pass out candy to trick or treaters and enjoyed a wonderful meal from the food we got at the farmer's market in the morning. (Roasted Free Range Chicken, Asparagus, Corn on the Cob, & Rice Pilaf that we made from a mix we got at the farmers market called "Ruby Red"- it had sun dried tomatoes and garlic.. mmm) Oh, and Raymond helped Daddy change the oil in the cars...

Raymond dressed up as a monster for Halloween- unfortunately someone asked if he was BARNEY!!!!

Thumbs up...

Helping Mommy

Look at the chubby baby helping his mommy with the laundry. It is teaching him to sit up!

I got a haircut!

It was still wet in this picture, but it really is shorter! A LOT SHORTER! More pics to come.

Jack-o-lantern

I carved a pumpkin! This was a major accomplishment. (and I used a stencil!) It is a baby sucking his thumb in the womb. How cool.

Yummy & Comforting Autumn Dinner

I love to bake, but I believe this was my first ever apple pie..
This is a recipe I love to make in the fall. Apple-Raisin Pork Chops. We had it again last night with baked sweet potatoes and asparagus.
Recipe:
Cook 2 red apples and 1/2 cup raisins in 2 t olive oil for 5 minutes. Add 1/4 cup of apple cider. When most of the liquid has absorbed add another 1/2 cup apple cider (or Marsala wine) and cook 15 minutes until thickened. Set Aside. Then cook pork chops, seasoned with rosemary, salt and pepper in the skillet in some olive oil over med-high heat for 5 min on each side or until done. Top with apple mixture. Yum!

Our Little Pumpkin

Out of all these choices, he opted for the raisins... Good boy!
Hello, pumpkin- I want to eat you!

Well, you can only be good so often...

Funky new recipe

So I thought I'd try a crazy recipe. It was called Black Bean Pumpkin soup. It was pretty good. Not my favorite meal or anything but I'd definitely do it again. It is nice to have something different every once in a while.

Trying out the high chair

I was at my friends' house the other day having dinner and they suggested that I try putting Raymond in their high chair while we ate. Never thought of it since he can't sit up unassisted yet. But it worked quite well! So here we are trying it at home. Thanks for the idea, Erin & Tim.

The season for sweatshirts is here.

It has been quite chilly and rainy here in STL lately. Therefore, Raymond got to show off his cuteness in long sleeves and sweatpants.

And... in overalls..
And hanging out with dad in his sweats, too!

Raymond loves red

Raymond's latest fascination is the color red. We have a red water bottle that we use at diaper changes that keeps him distracted. He grabs it and tries to drink out of it- it is so cute. Same thing with the red cup pictured here.
